Samsung is gearing up for the introduction of its next Note model that will pack quite a lot of changes versus the previous generation.

And while the South Koreans obviously remain completely tight-lipped on everything regarding the Note 10, there’s a lot going on in the rumor mill, with people familiar with the matter now claiming they know the launch date as well.

A report from CNET and citing a source with knowledge of the matter indicates that the Note 10 is projected to see daylight on August 7. The unveiling will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the same location where Samsung took the wraps off the Note 9 as well.

A separate rumor that made the rounds a few weeks ago suggested that the Note 10 could go live on August 10. The Galaxy Note 9 launch took place on August 9.

Two models, 5G version also expected

Little is known about the day when Samsung wants to kick off sales of the Note 10, but I’m guessing this wouldn’t take too long after the August 7 unveiling, as the South Koreans want to give the device some exclusive time on the market before Apple introduces its new-generation iPhone in September.

Samsung typically uses the month of August to introduce the latest model from the Note series, while Apple debuts new iPhones in September. This means the Note is usually the newest flagship on the market for approximately one month.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is expected to come in several versions, including a standard configuration and a Pro model whose specs include a 6.7-inch display, a triple-camera configuration on the back, and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the glass.

The Note 10 lineup is likely to give up on the headphone jack once and for all, with Samsung to insist for wireless headphones and offer a USB Type-C to audio adapter in the box.
