The feature will be introduced next month

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 earlier this month and the device made quite the impression on the market, with enhanced S Pen functions and the iris scanner. However, it lacked one of the features that many Note fans have been using extensively, Action Memo.

Although Samsung improved S Pen functions to a certain degree, it seems that the company left out a feature that many Note owners have been using. Action Memo allows users to write down memos, pin notes to the homescreen, add links to web addresses, emails and phone numbers, using the “link to action” option.

The neat thing about this is that users can then simply tap on web addresses to open or phone numbers to call. It certainly saves up time and it's quite useful, as well. The feature was present on previous Note phones, but it seems that Samsung had decided against releasing it on the latest model, the Note 7.

Action Memo could arrive next month to Samsung Notes

Samsung reps replied to a comment in the Play store stating that Action Memo will be included in the Samsung Notes app version 1.2, set to update sometime next month and before September. Samsung Notes is an application that incorporates all S Pen functions into one place. Users can create and manage notes, memos and drawings.

The app allows users to take notes easier and comes with multiple drawing tools, including brush and pen styles. Aside from this, it includes several apps, like the S Note, Scrapbook and Memo. Action Memo will join these applications.

Samsung Notes also comes with handwriting recognition, as well as a search feature that recognizes handwritten text. Optimized text input options were also added to Samsung Notes, together with support for check boxes, numbering, font colors for organizing to-do and shopping lists.

The application is available on the Galaxy Note 7 and will arrive to other Note devices in the near future.
