Galaxy S21 FE, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 to be part of the show

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off a new lineup of high-end phone models at an event in August, according to a new report, though, for the time being, no confirmation in this regard is offered.

The report claims the Galaxy S21 FE, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 could all be part of the announcements.

There are two important things that need to be mentioned here.

First and foremost, the timing seems just about right. Samsung typically unveiled its new Galaxy Note model in August, but this year, this device would no longer get a refresh. So given it skips this year’s update for the Galaxy Note, Samsung doesn’t want to ditch its tradition of launch new devices in August, therefore the company comes up with new foldables and the S21 SE instead of a new Note.

Second of all, I’ve previously been told that a Samsung event would take place in late July, and the same information has been shared online by several other sources on multiple occasions.

More affordable foldables also coming

So most likely, Samsung has decided to just push back the unveiling for a few weeks, which at some level makes sense for the reasons mentioned above.

Samsung is also expected to launch more affordable foldables this year, though no timing is available this time.

“True to our heritage of staying ahead of the curve with trailblazing mobile tech, we’ll be expanding our portfolio of foldables, so this groundbreaking category is more accessible to everyone,” Dr. TM Roh President & Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, said a few months ago.

So it remains to be seen if these more affordable foldables also show up in the summer, but right now, it looks like the next few months will be pretty busy for Samsung.
