With less than a week left until the official unveiling, Samsung has started to release teasers promoting the Galaxy Note 7 and all of its features, so it's no surprise that the South Korean giant has now debuted one such television ad.

The video has also been posted on YouTube, and although it doesn’t actually show the smartphone, it does hint at some of the features that should be on the upcoming handset. The teaser doesn’t exactly bring any new information to the table, but it does confirm some rumored specs.

It thus shows that the 5.8-inch phablet will come with a fingerprint scanner and a pattern lock that will allow users to unlock their phones fast. However, one of the main selling points of this upcoming device will be the iris scanner, said to unlock the device in 0.22 seconds. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t shown in the video, nor are there at least some hints to promote it.

Samsung teases IP68 certification for Note 7

Nevertheless, Samsung teases IP68 certification on the upcoming Note 7, and it does that by showing an image of some telephones submerged in water. In fact, the Galaxy Note 7 will be the first in the Note series to come with such certification that would make the handset waterproof. The Note 7 could be submerged in up to 5 feet of water for 30 minutes and should continue working afterward.

In addition, the video shows a row of numbers going from 0 to 5 with a question mark at the end. This references Samsung’s decision to skip the 6 moniker on the upcoming Note so that the series would align with the Galaxy S line. At the same time, it's a guarantee that consumers won’t be confused about the company’s latest offering in the Note series.

The video also confirms that Samsung will be revealing the next Note on August 2, during the Unpacked event to be organized in New York. The company will broadcast the unveiling on its website, and similar events will be held in cities from around the world on the same day.
