14 DAY TRIAL // It’s not a secret that the rollout of software updates in the Samsung world has long been a super-painful experience, especially because the South Koreans needed way too many months to bring the new goodies to all devices.
The times have changed substantially though, and the arrival of One UI 5, whose rollout started earlier this year, was a turning point for Samsung.
The company handled the whole process of bringing One UI 5 to supported devices out there in an impressive way, with close to 50 devices getting the update in about two months.
In other words, if you too are a Samsung user, there’s a good chance that you already received One UI 5 on your device. If not, you should get it in the coming days, Samsung says, as the company plans to complete the rollout by, well, December 31.
“Samsung successfully rolled out the Android 13 and One UI 5 upgrade to over 46 Samsung Galaxy device models worldwide in less than two months – its fastest OS upgrade rollout yet. The release represents Samsung’s most ambitious mobile software to date, as it requires high levels of customisation for different carriers and markets globally. Apart from delivering innovative mobile experiences to users in the quickest time possible, Samsung also aims to ensure a unique experience that meets the needs of users,” Samsung said in a press release published today.
“In the coming weeks, more Samsung users can expect to receive the OS upgrade as Samsung accelerates its deployment of One UI 5 updates to a wider range of models, including older flagship devices and tablets, with a goal to complete rollout for all eligible devices by the end of the year,” the company continued – emphasis is ours.
