Earlier this month, we reported that Samsung might release a new Gear VR in the coming weeks, and now more information has leaked, revealing that the new headset is already available for purchase and features a price tag of €€90.

Leakster Roland Quandt has posted information on Twitter, suggesting that Samsung’s upcoming headset will be called the New Gear VR (SM-R323). The post also shows that the new product is already on sale at certain retailers and has a price tag of €90.

However, the post doesn’t specify which retailer is selling the headset. Nevertheless, the leak does mention that the New Gear VR will be compatible with the current Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy Note 7, which is expected to be unveiled on August 2.

Samsung could introduce the new Gear VR together with the Note 7

Rumors on a new Gear VR from Samsung started surfacing ever since leaks on the upcoming display resolution and type of USB ports on the Note 7 first surfaced online.

The upcoming Galaxy Note 7 is said to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, but the rumored USB Type-C port would make it incompatible with the Gear VR launched earlier this year. Samsung’s Gear VR was offered for free with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge or sold as a separate product for a price of about $100 in the US and €100 in Europe.

Because of the current Gear VR’s incompatibility with the Galaxy Note 7, some speculated that Samsung would launch a new Gear VR headset, and it turns out that the company has done just that. The new Gear VR is said to be compatible with both the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 7, which means that it could pack both USB Type-C and a regular USB port.

Whatever the case, as the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 7 approaches, more information on the matter will surely surface soon.
