After shipping the big One UI 5 update to most devices in its lineup, Samsung is now working on another important update that will also go live for the majority of phones.

One UI 5.1 is therefore on its way, and according to a recent report, Samsung confirmed its existence in the release notes of the latest Galaxy Watch 5 update.

One UI 5.1 doesn’t yet have a release date, but one of the watch features it’s tied to is supposed to go live in February. This means the software update for smartphones could also be announced in February, and the timing seems just right.

Samsung is now giving the finishing touches to the Galaxy S23 series, with the public unveiling to take place on February 1 during the typical Unpacked event. The shipments are scheduled to kick off later the same month, with full information to be announced by Samsung at the event.

In the meantime, what’s almost certain is that the Galaxy S23 will run One UI 5.1 out of the box, so the new software version should already be finalized by the time the new flagship goes on sale. As a result, the rollout to the other devices in the lineup could also kick off in February.

Samsung also provided us with early information on the models projected to get the new software update, and they include the Galaxy S20, S21, and Galaxy S22, as well as Galaxy Z Flip, Z Flip 5G, Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Most likely, others will follow in the coming months, but the rollout will probably kick off with these devices. At this point, however, you shouldn’t take anything for granted until an official announcement from Samsung is released.
