Samsung will be relying on its upcoming flagships for retrieving some of the lost consumer trust following the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. Information about the Galaxy S8 has been leaking for a few weeks now, culminating with a render that appeared a few days ago.

SamMobile has just reported that Samsung has already started firmware development for the Galaxy S8, rumored to arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2017. The smartphone could be launched on February 26, as Samsung might be hurrying to provide consumers with a brand new product that meets rigorous safety tests.

The report also mentions that the ROM is being developed for use in multiple countries from around the world, including China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Other countries will probably follow, and it’s no wonder, since phones in the Galaxy S series usually receive global releases.

The Galaxy S8 might come with a bezel-less display and a dual camera setup

Rumors about the Galaxy S8 have been surfacing for some time now and they point at two variants to be made available, internally known as Dream and Dream2. One of the smartphones might come with a 2k 5.1-inch curved Super AMOLED display, while the other might have a 5.5-inch 4k screen.

The smartphones might come with a 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor or Exynos 8895 CPU, depending on the region.

The larger variant might have a dual-camera setup on the back and a new artificial intelligence assistant to replace S Voice, since Samsung recently purchased Viv Labs.

Another interesting thing about the Galaxy S8 is that the smartphone might come with a bezel-less design and curved edges even at the top and bottom. The fingerprint scanner might be located inside the display, since Samsung will be removing the home button.

The Galaxy S8 could also incorporate 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal memory. These are just rumors at this point, and nothing is for sure until the company actually announces the device.
