The Galaxy S22 general availability now planned for Feb. 25

Samsung is projected to take the wraps off the Galaxy S22 at some point next month, but so far, nobody knows exactly when the company is planning to hold its signature Unpacked event.

I’ve heard on several occasions that the Galaxy S22 is scheduled to see the daylight in the last week of January, but on the other hand, some sources familiar with the matter previously suggested that an early February event is also on the table.

The reason is as simple as it could be: Samsung is also introducing the new Galaxy S21 FE at CES in the first days of 2022, so the company wants to give this model more exclusive time on the market. Everybody knows that once the S22 sees the daylight, nobody would continue to talk about the previous models, so Samsung wants to make sure the Galaxy S21 FE makes a bigger impact in terms of sales.

Pre-orders to kick off in early February

According to serial Apple leakster Jon Prosser, the South Korean company has recently decided to push back some important dates for the Galaxy S22, so the pre-orders are now scheduled to start on February 9, 2022.

The general availability is planned for February 25, 2022, and Prosser says it’s all caused by what’s being described as a “significant supply chain issue.”

Needless to say, Samsung hasn’t said anything about the debut of the Galaxy S22, so the dates could once again change if the company manages to deal with these supply issues.

If this calendar is eventually used for the Galaxy S22, then there’s a good chance the launch event indeed takes place in early February, most likely in the first week of the month.

It remains to be seen when the S22 ends up to see the daylight, but for now, it’s very clear the debut of the Galaxy S21 FE has also made the schedule more complicated than Samsung wanted it to be in the first place.
