New comical marketing push from the company

Samsung has turned making fun of Apple into a real hobby, so the company rolling out ads that mock its rival isn’t by any means uncommon.

The latest such ad is called “On the fence,” and while the South Korean firm doesn’t mention Apple at all, it’s pretty clear that its Cupertino-based competitor is the one that it’s referring to.

While I’m not going to provide any spoilers because this would ruin the fun of watching the ad, I can’t admit that the video is as funny as it is spot on.

Samsung is without a doubt the pioneer of the foldable form factor and currently a leading brand in terms of camera performance, whereas Apple sticks with a more traditional form factor. Rumor has it that Apple too is working on a foldable iPhone, but people familiar with the matter said the device wouldn’t land earlier than 2024.

That’s why the Apple users in the ad claim “that’s what we do. We wait.” Samsung suggests Apple is very often the company that follows in its footsteps whenever it comes to innovations such as the foldable form factor.

Obviously, this isn’t the first time Samsung pokes fun at its rival, and this approach has more or less gained traction ever since Apple launched the iPhone X back in 2017.

At that point, the South Koreans released an ad to mock the notch, and while this was a fantastic marketing idea, it all backfired when Samsung itself eventually embraced the notch on its very own smartphones.

The company, however, removed the ads, hoping the Internet would forget about the way it initially treated this design idea, but of course, this never happens. So hats off to Samsung for the way it makes fun of Apple, but hopefully, the company would no longer take down these ads and admit some of the things it mocked are actually good ideas.
