14 DAY TRIAL // Only a couple of months after launching the Galaxy Tab A 7.0, South Korean company Samsung has officially released the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), with a larger display and a more powerful battery compared to its predecessor.
Rumors and leaked images of the upcoming tablet have finally been confirmed. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 comes with a 10.1-inch display with 1,920x1,200 pixel resolution and an octa-core 1.6GHz processor. It’s an improvement from the Galaxy Tab A 7.0, in the sense that it has a larger display and a more powerful battery.
The display integrates Samsung’s PLS (Plane to Line Switching) technology, a variation of LG’s IPS panel. The PLS technology is very similar to the IPS panel, but it provides an increase in brightness, image quality and improvement in viewing angle, compared to AMOLED panels.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 has 2GB of RAM and a powerful battery of 7,300mAh. The rear camera is 8MP, with f1.9 aperture and it includes autofocus and LED flash, as it can record 1080p videos. The front camera is set to reach 2MP with f2.2 aperture.

Samsung also made some camera improvements, considering that the rear camera on the Tab A 7.0 only reached 5MP. Internal storage is set to reach 16GB with the capacity to expand to up to 200GB using a microSD card. It comes with two stereo speakers, both placed on the same bottom side.
The slate’s dimensions reach 155.3 x 254.2 x 8.2mm and it weighs 525g. Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will come with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box. It has a multi-user mode for setting up to eight individual user profiles, making it suitable for family-use.
Samsung launched two versions of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), the Wi-Fi one is priced at $329 (€289), while the variant with cellular connectivity will cost $340 (€349). Both variants come in black or white versions and will be available in the German retail sector starting with June.
