Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the company’s flagships this year, and they’ve really made an impression on the market. In order to promote the smartphones even further, the South Korean giant has initiated the “Captured on Galaxy S7” campaign, which is quite similar to Apple’s “Shot on iPhone.”

Samsung has just started a new campaign called “Captured on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge,” showing off videos shot in 4K Ultra. Its main purpose is to showcase the advanced cameras that the two devices come with, and thus convince consumers to check out these handsets.

Samsung’s campaign is strikingly similar to Apple’s “Shot on iPhone,” which shows amazing images caught with the device’s camera. But there’s a difference between the two initiatives, as Apple’s seems to have relied on photos and videos provided by customers whereas Samsung might have used professionals in order to put it together.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge come with 4k video capabilities

Samsung’s campaign uses video shot using helicopters or drones, which do provide excellent images but aren’t as consumer-oriented as Apple’s campaign.

Both the iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S7 come with the same type of rear camera, providing 4k video recording capabilities at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge come with 12MP rear cameras, less compared to its predecessor, Galaxy S6 (16MP).

However, the Galaxy S7 has larger pixel size (1.4um) and wider aperture (f/1.7). The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge boast Dual Pixel technology, which incorporates focus capabilities that would be normally found on a DSLR camera.

Still, Samsung’s video shows that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge do provide videos with vivid and vibrant colors, as well as a high level of detail.
