No further model would be introduced, report claims

Well, this didn’t last long. After only a few models that got to see the daylight, the Galaxy FE lineup is expected to be dropped by Samsung, according to a recent report, as the company is no longer interested in releasing Fan Edition models.

The report comes from SamMobile citing sources familiar with the matter, so for the time being, everybody should just take this piece of information with a healthy dose of skepticism.

However, the rumor pretty much makes sense.

The Galaxy FE models have never been a major hit, despite Samsung’s attempt to make its premium devices available at a lower price tag. Pretty much cannibalized by the other models in Samsung’s lineup, the FE failed to make an impact, and right now, pulling the plug on the entire series makes perfect sense.

The Galaxy S21 FE, for instance, is believed to have been pushed back substantially, so when it was finally announced in January this year, its success has been very limited, to say the least.

SamMobile claims a Galaxy S22 FE is very unlikely right now, with the South Korean company to stick with its previous strategy that includes investing in other premium mid-range models that could play the role of a FE device.

Needless to say, everything can change overnight, but no information on a new SE model has leaked so far. The South Korean company is entirely focused on its next big release, which should take place in August and bring us the new-generation foldables.

If anything, we should find out more about a potential Galaxy FE model in the fall, but if the rumor is true, then we’d better not hold our breaths for such leaks.

A confirmation from Samsung is obviously highly unlikely, as the company doesn’t typically comment on speculation.
