Samsung has announced that its mobile security service KNOX has just received certifications in two countries, China and France.

Governments in these countries have offered Samsung KNOX security solution certificates, which will allow the South Korean company to gain a stronger foothold to sign mobile device contracts with regulated industries in China and France.

According to Samsung, the mobile devices that were used in China to secure these certifications are the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5, two of the company's most popular high-end smartphones.

Samsung has also mentioned that the testing was done with KNOX Workspace 2.3 in France. The handset maker has stated that receiving the first level security certification will most likely differentiate Samsung's mobile devices within France.

“Samsung KNOX is unmatched in its ability to deliver trusted mobile security across an all-encompassing robust platform.”

“Our market leadership, innovative technology and worldwide government certification is second to none, and we look forward to giving more people the opportunity to operate mobility with complete safety,” said Dr. Injong Rhee, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D, Software and Services at Samsung Electronics.

KNOX has already been certified in several other countries

China and France add to the relatively short but strong list of countries that have awarded mobile security certifications to Samsung's KNOX service: Finland, Russian, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

In other news, Samsung is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7, in late February, a few days ahead of Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair.

The South Korean company will try to bring its Galaxy S7 smartphones to the market earlier than usual, as rumors claim they will be released on the market less than a month after the official announcement.

Naturally, Samsung KNOX mobile security solution will be implemented in all Galaxy S7 models as well, so those obsessed with privacy shouldn't worry about that at all.
