The Galaxy Note 7 comes with the latest Knox 2.7

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 has made quite the impression on the market, but that was to be expected, considering the many features and improvements that it incorporates. The smartphone was released in early August, and it boasts an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and Knox 2.7 security features.

Samsung implemented quite an impressive array of security features on the Galaxy Note 7, meant to help keep information inside the phone locked and to secure payments made with the handset. The company has just detailed the many ways in which it improved the Knox 2.7 platform on the Note 7.

The latest version of Samsung's mobile security solution comes with numerous features that benefit enterprise users in particular. Samsung states that it focused on security, manageability, and productivity in the new version of Knox, while also aiming to offer increased protection of personal and work data.

Knox 2.7 comes with Secure Folder for hiding private data

Knox 2.7 comes with enhanced core kernel security provided by the additional Call Flow Protection feature, which helps keep the phone safe from any interferences. Knox 2.7 also makes use of the iris scanner found on the handset, which provides an increased level of security.

In addition, the new security solution found in Knox is Secure Folder, which was mentioned in the post detailing Samsung's iris scanner. The folder basically allows users to store private apps and files so that no one else can access them. Secure Folder is locked and unlocked using the iris scanner, and it can even be hidden so that no one else knows of its existence.

The new Knox version allows IT administrators in a company to send firmware over-the-air and thus get more control of the software. The new update makes device enrollment easier and faster.

Samsung also says that the new cellular network option part of mobile enrollment can prove to be quite useful for users in high-security fields, like the government, as WiFi may not be used due to some internal security concerns.
