The company has increased orders for foldable panels

The Galaxy S22 is official now, and all models have started shipping to customers, so the company can now prepare for the next devices that are projected to see the daylight later this year.

In addition to the mid-rangers that will be announced throughout the year, the next generation of foldables is clearly one of the most anticipated moments of the year.

This is because Samsung is betting all-in on foldables right now, and every new generation is supposed to show the world the company is the pioneer of this form factor.

Samsung apparently expects the next Galaxy Z Flip to be a total hit, as it has substantially increased the display orders for its upcoming model.

Launch due in August

Display analyst Ross Young revealed that Samsung asked its display unit to manufacture no more, no less than 8.7 million foldable panels for this particular model. And if you think this isn’t a notable increase, you should then know the Galaxy Z Flip 3 received orders for just 5.1 million screens.

Clearly, Samsung hopes the device would sell like hotcakes, and the company apparently wants to be fully prepared to ship these units in a timely manner to customers.

The launch of the new models is projected to take place at the company’s typical summer Unpacked event. The whole thing will happen in August, though a more specific date is not available right now.

The upcoming Unpacked event will be first and foremost about the new foldables, though Samsung will also introduce a new generation of the Galaxy Watch. Our beloved Note will no longer get a refresh, as the device has most likely been discontinued – the summer event was typically used to take the wraps off the new Note models, but this has clearly changed, with all the love now going to foldables.
