Samsung has been fairly busy today, as the company’s Unpacked event witnessed the introduction of several new devices, including the all-new Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

Just like its predecessor, the new Flip comes with its signature foldable design, but this time, Samsung has tried to improve exactly the things that matter the most for its customers.

The new device comes with a redesigned Cover Screen, and Samsung says it’s four times larger than on the previous model. An NFC sensor is integrated right into the Cover Screen, which means you can make payments via Samsung Pay as conveniently as possible.

The device features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, with the main screen coming in the form of a 6.7-inch panel with a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The cover screen, on the other hand, is a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display.

Going on sale on August 27

The new Flip has a weight of 183 grams, and as compared to the Galaxy Z Fold3, which features a triple camera setup, it comes with just a dual-camera configuration. Both are 12-megapixel sensors, but in addition, there’s also a 10-megapixel selfie camera with F2.4.

The device will be available in two different storage options, namely 128GB and 256GB, both of them coming with 8GB RAM. A 3,300 mAh battery will be in charge of giving at least one full day of autonomy.

“The new Flex Mode Panel feature makes apps look better and easier to use. When the device is partially folded, Flex Mode Panel gives you new ways to interact with Z Flip3, offering a more convenient viewing experience by moving the video to the top half of the screen and the show’s controls—like brightness and volume—to the bottom half,” Samsung explains.

The new Flip is already available for pre-order today, while shipping will start on August 27. The cheapest model is available for as low as $999.99.
