Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is an affordable Android tablet launched by the South Korean company about two years ago. The slate was released with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system right out of the box, and those who own the tablet should not expect to receive Marshmallow.

The good news is fans of the Galaxy Tab series will be able to upgrade their affordable tablets with new ones that Samsung has in the pipeline.

A new device with model number Samsung SM-T116IR has been recently spotted at Zauba, India's website that tracks imports and exports. The same tablet is now listed at GFXBench, which provides us with additional details on its specs.

We don't know the name under which the tablet will be released on the market, but judging by the specs listed at GFXBench, this looks like an enhanced version of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

Similar display, more RAM and better camera

The tablet with model number SM-T116IR sports a display similar to that of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution.

However, the new tablet comes with a better processor, as GFXBench confirms a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor inside, coupled with Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.

The older Galaxy Tab Lite 3, as well as the new version, packs 8GB of internal memory, but we expect the SM-T116IR to come with microSD card slot too.

Another improvement over the previous model is the addition of a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Also, Samsung SM-T116IR features a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which should be much better than Galaxy Tab 3 Lite's 2-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Last but not least, Samsung SM-T116IR will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is a bit disappointing.
