Some say that Samsung might be considering an earlier launch for the Galaxy S8, after the Galaxy Note 7 recall affected the company's financial situation and brand image. It seems that rumors on the upcoming Galaxy S8 have started to surface, although it's quite early to talk about the specs sheet.

The latest rumor comes from WCCftech and claims that the Galaxy S8 will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 8895 processor, which is said to reach frequencies of 3GHz. In addition, the new processor could lower power consumption to under 5w on the phone.

The Exynos 8895, developed by Samsung, is said to improve image processing by 70% or even 80%. The chipset was recently tested on Geekbench, where it scored 2,301 on the single-core test and 7,019 on the multi-core test. The chip's codename is Kanchen.

The Galaxy S8 could come in two variants, Dream and Dream2

Rumors regarding the Galaxy S8 claim that the smartphone will be launched earlier than predicted, which means it could arrive sooner than February 2017. The device's display will be dual-curved, and Samsung won't be providing a flat variant of the Galaxy S8. In the past, Samsung released both a dual-curved display and a flat variant for the Galaxy S7 line.

The Galaxy S7 edge clearly surpassed sales of the flat Galaxy S7, and the phone maker intends to capitalize on this market trend. In addition, the Galaxy S6 edge variant saw such high demand on the market that Samsung even had some issues with supply at first. The company released a Galaxy Note 7 only in dual-curved screen version, before it was recalled.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 is also rumored to come in two variants, carrying the code numbers GT-I9400 and GT-I9500, while they're internally known as Dream and Dream2. The smartphone is also believed to come with a dual-camera setup.
