The smartphone could be unveiled on March 29

With all these rumors about the upcoming release of the Galaxy S8, it's hard to tell when the smartphone will be announced and when it will actually hit the shelves. One thing is clear, though, the date for the Galaxy S8's announcement is still a mystery.

Today, new information about the possible launch of Samsung's flagship popped up online, but we strongly recommend our readers to treat it as unconfirmed rumor. Well-known leakster @Ricciolo claims he has some interesting info on the Galaxy S8.

According to him, Samsung will bring the Galaxy S8 next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 trade fair, but the smartphone will not be showcased for the masses.

Furthermore, the smartphone is rumored to be officially introduced on March 29 at a dedicated event, which will probably take place in New York. Another interesting piece of information provided by the leakster is the fact that the phone will go on sale in the week 17.

The rumor comes in line with previous reports that claimed the Galaxy S8 would not be available on the market until April 18. Since week 17 coincides with the end of April, it's safe to assume that Samsung plans to make the Galaxy S8 available for purchase one month after the official unveil.

Last but not least, @Ricciolo claims the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagships will be slightly more expensive than its predecessors.

For example, the standard Galaxy S8 will cost around €850. If that's true, then the Galaxy S8 Plus could be priced at no less than €950 outright.

The leaked outright price does seem a little bit higher than what we've been expecting. Nothing that Samsung could include in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would justify such a high price, so we sincerely hope these rumors won't prove to be true.
