Inventory will most likely be replenished next week

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been quite popular in the maker's home country, considering that the company has recently announced that pre-orders surpassed the 1 million units mark. However, one variant seems to be facing supply issues.

The number of recently activated pre-ordered Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ units has started to slightly slow down its rapid growth pace, and dropped drastically two days after the official services began, according to a recent report.

On Tuesday, 260,000 Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones were activated, compared to just 63,400 units on Wednesday. The total number of smartphones that started service dropped by a third compared to the previous day.

Samsung is facing internal supply issues

Apparently, the issue seems to have been caused by supply problems with the highly popular Galaxy S8+ with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Samsung did previously say that the popular variant could arrive late for some customers and it seems that internal supply issues weren’t solved on time.

Any way, customers won’t have to wait long for the new smartphones, as the stock of Galaxy S8+ phones with 6GB of RAM will be replenished next week, after which pre-orders will continue to ship on a daily basis.

Fortunately, supply issues with the other two units weren’t recorded, which means that the smartphones should be shipped on the expected date, without encountering delays. Samsung set new records with pre-orders of the Galaxy S8, managing to record a sales figure five times higher than of last year’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in Korea.

Pre-order figures for the US weren’t revealed, but Samsung did say that it saw strong two-digit growth. Sadly, some customers who received their Galaxy S8 units noticed an inconvenient red-tinted screen, which Samsung says can be fixed manually by adjusting display optimization settings.
