Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus leak in new images daily, and this shouldn’t come as a surprise. The upcoming Galaxy S8 will be the first flagship that Samsung launches after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, and it’s clear that there’s a lot of pressure on the company to deliver a reliable and powerful device.

The latest leaked image supposedly shows the 3,500mAh battery on the Galaxy S8 Plus, according to SamMobile. The battery in the image seems to match the component certified by the FCC recently, when the Galaxy S8 Plus received approval from the Federal Communications Commission in the US.

Recently, the Galaxy S8 also received approval from the China Compulsory Certification (CCC), the equivalent of the FCC in one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world.

Battery made in Korea and assembled in Vietnam

The leaked image reveals the fact that the Galaxy S8 Plus' battery was made in Korea and assembled in Vietnam by Samsung SDI, but it doesn’t specifically say who made it. Samsung has been tipped to use a number of battery suppliers for its upcoming flagship, while the company doesn’t intend to take any chances when it comes to the safety of consumers.

Some of the suppliers are Samsung SDI, LG Chem and Japan’s Murata Manufacturing Works. It will be interesting to see how the battery would perform with a 6.2-inch display with the rumored WQHD+ (2960 x 2400 pixels) resolution.

The recent leak also confirms a previous report regarding the battery inside the new phone. A KGI analyst said that the Galaxy S8 Plus would have an 8MP front camera and a 12MP snapper in the back, while it would also come with Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant.

The two phones will be made available in a number of color options, including gold, bright black, orchid, pink, and many more. The unveil date is set for March 29, while the phones could launch as soon as April 21 in Korea.
