Samsung plans to launch its first digital personal assistant along with the Galaxy S8. Word about the so-called Bixby AI emerged online many months ago, so we can safely assume that Samsung has something coming our way.

Whether it will be launched alongside the Galaxy S8 or slightly later, we will learn in the coming weeks. What's interesting is that Samsung doesn't plan to get rid of its S apps as we've initially expected.

Previous reports claimed Samsung's Bixby digital personal assistant would be deeply integrated with the Galaxy S8's apps and software, which led us to believe that the S apps would be dropped from the flagship smartphone.

This won't happen, though, if we are to believe the latest information coming from SamMobile. According to sources familiar with Samsung's plans, one of the S apps that has been part of the company's high-end smartphones' software, S Health, will be completely overhauled.

Users will be able to pay the doctor through the app

The whole S Health's functionality will be revamped completely to provide users with meaningful help when they need it. It appears that Samsung is now in talks with various partners like WebMD and Amwell to include advanced features inside the S Health app coming on the Galaxy S8.

If Samsung brings these partners aboard, then the S Health app will allow users to search for symptoms, diseases, and drugs. In addition, they will also be able to make doctor appointments by simply using the S Health application.

Moreover, if the need arises, Samsung Galaxy S8 users will be able to make video calls with doctors 24/7, as well as get a list of nearby pharmacy stores.

The new S Health application will act like a Calendar application, and store all the medical information such as doctor appointments, symptoms, photos, as well as medical prescriptions. It will also be possible to pay the doctor using a credit card through S Health app, and call 911 in case of emergency.
