14 DAY TRIAL // As the rumored March 29 launch date draws near, more and more information about the upcoming Galaxy S8 phones continues to leak online. The latest report shows the two phones side by side and reveals the capacitive on-screen home button.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ have leaked in an image recently posted by SlashLeaks and revealing the phones side by side, showing the difference in display size. The Galaxy S8 is said to have a 5.8-inch display, while the larger Galaxy S8+ will have a screen size of 6.2 inches.
The images reveal the phones with a tempered glass cover on top, but the capacitive on-screen home button is visible in the Always on Display mode. The button would be used for waking the phone and viewing notifications in the lock screen.
Samsung decided to ditch the physical home button on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, and it moved the fingerprint scanner to the back of the phone. The leaked image is a bit blurry and it doesn’t show the back of the phone. In addition, there’s no Samsung branding on the front, while the top and bottom bezels are much smaller than in previous models. As with any leaked image of an unannounced phone, take the information with a grain of salt.

The Galaxy S8’s on-screen buttons can also be seen in an alleged system dump, spotted by AndroidPolice. The renders show the three on-screen buttons on the upcoming smartphone, together with the fingerprint scanner on the back. They corroborate previous rumors and leaks.
The renders also show how the upcoming DeX dock would work. The system would allow users to connect their Galaxy S8 phones to an external display and push a desktop-like experience. The DeX dock would have an HDMI connector at the rear and it will come with an integrated wireless charger as well.
