All Galaxy S7 variations come with the new piece of hardware

The rumor mill has already started for Samsung Galaxy S7, and as we're getting closer to its unveil, we will be pounded with even more hearsay about the upcoming flagship smartphone.

Up until now, we've received some info on the phone's hardware and pictures of alleged Galaxy S7 cases, but here is another piece of the puzzle that could shed some light one the handset's pricing.

According to a new report coming from Poland (via PhoneArena), the Galaxy S7 will cost more than Samsung originally expected since the South Korean company had a last-minute change of heart and decided to add something that should make it stand out from other flagship smartphones.

All Galaxy S7 variations will be packed with iris scanners, just like Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 Windows Phones.

If the information proves to be accurate, then Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7 edge+, and Galaxy S7 Plus will be slightly more expensive than the Galaxy S6 was at launch.

While the addition of new technologies and pieces of hardware meant to offer new features to users is great, it's a bit disheartening that customers should pay more every time a new flagship is launched on the market.

It'd better work smoothly

The iris scanner will offer another security layer to those obsessed with privacy, in addition to the already-present fingerprint scanner.

We sincerely hope that, if Samsung adds an iris scanner to its Galaxy S7 lineup, the hardware will work flawlessly because otherwise it will be just marketing meant to justify a higher price for a flagship smartphone.

On the other hand, we doubt that the South Korean company will increase the price of the standard  Galaxy S7 model past the $700 threshold. I guess we will know more in February, when Samsung is expected to announce its next flagship smartphone.
