It involves some scissors, a lighter and luck

Samsung has decided to bring back the microSD card slot for the Galaxy S flagship series, so both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge come with one inside.

However, some markets get the dual-SIM version of Galaxy S7, which allows users to either use two SIMs inside the smartphone, or a nanoSIM and an SD memory card.

The good news is someone has found a way to have it all, regardless of your version of Galaxy S7/S7 edge. The folks over at NoReplied managed to fit not two, but three cards inside the Galaxy S7 edge: two nanoSIMs and one microSD memory card.

The process takes some time and involves a pair of scissors, a lighter and some luck. Also, there’s a chance that you might damage your memory and/or nanoSIM cards in the process, so have that in mind before trying this at home.

Your smartphone might get damaged in the process

The highest risk would be to simply break your smartphone and the warranty certainly won’t cover this type of damage. If you decide to try turning your Galaxy S7/S7 edge into a dual-SIM smartphone, you should know that your nanoSIM must remain your permanent line since it will be attached to the microSD card (literally).

In order to achieve dual-SIM support for your Galaxy S7/S7 edge, you need to heat up the nanoSIM for up to 1 minute and remove the chip. After you’ve successfully removed the chip from the nanoSIM card, you will have to attach it on the microSD card in a way that it will fit the SIM tray.

Then, the only thing that remains is to align the microSD card that also features the nanoSIM chip glued on the outside, into the SIM tray. If you manage to do that correctly, your Galaxy S7/S7 edge will have dual-SIM feature enabled, as well as expanded microSD card storage.

For more in-depth details on how you can achieve dual-SIM support and microSD storage, you can head over to NoReplied’s article.
