14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has started releasing the forth Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones, part of the Galaxy Beta program. The two phone models are probably the only ones currently running on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Samsung did recently announce that it would bring 7.0 Nougat to other devices as well, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2, which recently appeared in a benchmark test running 7.0 Nougat.
SamMobile revealed that the forth update is the smallest when it comes to the changelog. Aside from the usual bug fixes and stability improvements, it seems that Samsung decided to remove Samsung Notes as a pre-installed app.
Samsung Notes is no longer a pre-installed app
The app recently received support for Android Nougat, which means that it’s available in the Galaxy Apps store or Google Play for users who want to grab it. If you’ve been using Samsung Notes to store information, you should install the app from the store or back up data to your Samsung account before going forward with the installation of the fourth beta version for 7.0 Nougat. The update will delete all personal data stored in the Samsung Notes app.
Moreover, the About device section of the settings menu no longer mentions Samsung Experience, which means that the company might not name its user interface just yet. A few days ago, it was reported that Samsung might rename its proprietary UI to Samsung Experience, according to the company’s latest logo registration filling.
In addition, 7.0 Nougat on the Galaxy S7 edge is expected to improve performance, speed up gaming and browsing on the phone. The update has a 280MB size and is already available over the air. If you haven’t received the notification yet, search for Software update in the settings menu.
