A few days ago, we brought you news that a bunch of pictures showcasing the Galaxy S6 edge+ compared to the Galaxy Note 4 leaked into the wild, giving you an idea of the real-life dimensions of the phablet.

Well, this week, we’re treating you to more Galaxy S6 edge+ imagery. The folks of French website Nowhereelese have managed to get hold of a bunch of pictures showing the Galaxy S6 edge sitting on top of a prototype of the larger Galaxy S6 edge+.

So, if you needed more proof that the larger Galaxy S6 edge is indeed coming, here you go. The images reveal a bunch of additional details, including the fact that the microphone at the bottom has shifted position. Moreover, the phone seems to come devoid of an infrared sensor.

But given the fact that we’re looking at a prototype device, the infrared sensor will probably make its way into the real product after all. The rest of the hardware will remain absolutely the same as with the Galaxy S6 edge.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ should be coming next month

The phablet should arrive with a larger 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution (QHD standard). Under the hood, the handset takes advantage of an Exynos 7420 processor working hand in hand with 3GB of RAM.

You won’t have to wait long for the Galaxy S6 edge+ to make an appearance into the wild, because if the rumor mill is right, Samsung is gearing up to launch the device soon enough.

Unlike in previous years, when Samsung hosted a big press event at IFA 2015 in Berlin to unveil its latest phablet, this year the Korean tech giant seems to be worried more than ever that Apple’s September-bound iPhones will overshadow its efforts.

So word on the street has it that Samsung has decided to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 earlier than expected, during an event scheduled for August 12. And the company will not unleash one phablet but two, as the Galaxy S6 edge+ is also expected to make a debut during the same date.

It appears there’s no next-gen Galaxy Note Edge coming this year, unless Samsung ends up surprising us.
