The next big thing in the Android world is expected to arrive on August 13 when Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ phablets.

The two phones have been in the rumor mill in the last few months, so we know what to expect from them, for the most part. Recently, the first press renders gave us an idea of how the phones would actually look when they arrive on the market. What’s more, a few images of the real life Galaxy Note 5 have also surfaced this week.

However, if you still haven’t had enough of looking at Samsung’s upcoming flagships, third-party case maker Spigen has just posted a few renders of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ coated in their protective cases. These accessories are expected to start shipping on September 30, although the two phones will probably be available before that date.

While the Spigen website doesn’t offer us any info related to the specs of the upcoming devices, we do know most of them. Let’s start with the Galaxy Note 5 and give you a quick refresh.

Samsung's new phablets will make it out soon

Samsung’s next-gen phablet should make a debut with a 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels) and draw life from an Exynos 7420 chipset (not a newer Exynos 7422 as it was previously believed). The phone should also be the first coming out of Samsung with 4GB of RAM on board and a choice between 32GB/64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Sadly, the phone will not come with a microSD card for memory expansion, as it was confirmed by the live images that surfaced a few days ago. On top of that, the phone will apparently bundle a smaller battery than previously expected, of 3,000 mAh capacity (not of the 4,100 mAh variety).

As for the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, the handset will reportedly come with similar specifications, although some reports would have us believe that it will take advantage of only 3GB of RAM and not 4GB. This aspect will probably receive clarification during launch day.
