14 DAY TRIAL // We’re only a couple of weeks away from the moment the Galaxy S23 series will finally see daylight, and of course, we already know pretty much everything about this highly anticipated device.
However, the folks over at NieuweMobiel have leaked a new series of renders, this time showing the Galaxy S23 Ultra and providing us with a new closer look at the device.
Of course, the leak doesn’t include any surprises, as pretty much everything we knew about the smartphone is still there. Just like on the current Galaxy 22 Ultra, the upgraded model will come with S Pen support, which makes sense given the Note is no more.
But what I think is the biggest change is actually the one happening under the hood.
As per Samsung’s typical approach, the Galaxy S23 will be offered with a choice of two processors, but this time, the parent company plans to do things a little bit differently.
Historically, Galaxy S models have been offered with Exynos and Snapdragon chips, all depending on the market. In the United States, for instance, customers were only provided with the Snapdragon-powered model, while in Europe, the Exynos version was the only one that could be purchased.
Tests performed to compare the two versions, however, revealed that the Snapdragon model was significantly faster and used less battery life than the Exynos. Customers unsurprisingly ended up being frustrated, especially because the Snapdragon was only available in limited markets, in some cases even being forced to pay more for the Exynos configuration.
This time, however, it’s believed Samsung wants to bring the Snapdragon-powered S23 to all markets. This means the company will sell it everywhere across the world, so the difference in terms of performance would no longer be relevant.
The Unpacked event will take place on February 1, with shipping to start later the same month.
