Samsung is projected to unveil the Galaxy S21 in approximately one month, as the launch date has reportedly moved earlier than it usual, and the closer we get to this moment, the more information on the device makes the headlines.

This time, it’s a Geekbench benchmark suggesting the Galaxy S21 could be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor, and this is more or less a confirmation the next model would once again be offered with two chip versions.

First of all, it’s the Exynos 2100 processor, Samsung’s in-house built CPU that will be installed on international versions of the Galaxy S21. And then, it’s this Snapdragon 888, which will most likely be used on the Galaxy S21 models sold in South Korea, the United States, and a series of other markets.

Needless to say, there’s a chance this approach will once again lead to performance comparison between the Exynos and the Snapdragon variants, and unless they provide the same performance, expect a new wave of criticism against the South Korean company.

12GB RAM on the Ultra

According to this benchmark, the Galaxy S21 is expected to come with 8GB RAM, though this is most likely the case of the standard version of the smartphone. The top-of-the-range Galaxy S21 Ultra is also expected to be upgraded to 12GB RAM, and most likely, the top storage choice would be 256GB or 512GB, with a microSD card to also be offered.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will also come with support for Samsung’s S Pen stylus, as the South Koreans are starting the migration from the Note series of the Galaxy S lineup.

The final goal is to discontinue the Galaxy Note entirely, though people close to the matter suggest at least one more model would go live, and there’s a chance this is the 2021 release. In other words, the Galaxy Note21 could be the last Note to ever see the daylight, after which the entire series would be axed.
