We’ve known for a while that the Samsung Galaxy S21 is a hot seller in the United States, but new data shared by Counterpoint indicates that the device is selling twice better than its predecessor.

The figures concern the first 6 weeks on the market, and the market research firm says the Galaxy S20 has been substantially hit by the global health issue, but on the other hand, the strong support from U.S. carriers has also helped the Galaxy S21 sell like hotcakes in its early days of availability.

“There has been a significant change compared to last year in terms of the model mix, with one-third of S21 Series sales coming from the base model S21. Lower cost coupled with trade-in offers that essentially make the S21 device free, is helping increase demand for these ‘entry-level’ flagships.” He added, “Samsung also got the camera configuration on the base model right, giving it three on the rear to match up with the deluxe S21 Plus,” Counterpoint’s US Research Analyst Maurice Klaehne said.

Galaxy S21 Ultra dominating the sales

Surprisingly, the Ultra version of the Galaxy S21, which is also the most expensive, is currently the leading model in the charts, followed by the Galaxy S21 and then the S21+.

Surprisingly, customers in the United States aren’t at all upset with some of Samsung’s questionable design changes.

For example, people actually like the plastic back on some models, mostly because it offers additional grip, so it’s easier to hold the smartphone in hand.

And last but not least, not getting a charger in the box is just a minor problem, it seems, as almost nobody considers it a deal breaker, most likely because they already have a USB Type-C charger with fast charging around.
