14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung Galaxy S21 is the next big unveiling in the smartphone market after the debut of the iPhone 12, and according to people close to the matter, the South Korean company might be in a rush to take the wraps off the device.
So instead of the typical February announcement, the Galaxy S21 could see daylight in January, with sales to kick off a few weeks later.
And now, thanks to leakster OnLeaks, we also have a look at the Galaxy S21, months ahead of its expected early 2021 launch.
First and foremost, the design would be further refined, but without a doubt, the most striking addition is the massive camera bump that will be offered on the Ultra model. Just like on the Note20 Ultra, the camera will be huge, thus eating up a considerable part of the back of the phone.
OnLeaks says the Galaxy Note20 Ultra will use a 6.7 or 6.9-inch curved display, whereas the Galaxy Note20 (the standard version) will come with a 6.2-inch screen. The smaller model would feature 3 rear cameras, while the bigger sibling will boast a quad-camera configuration.
Launch in January
Both devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chip, but it remains to be seen if Samsung also plans to release an Exynos version. As per the company’s typical approach, the Snapdragon version is offered in Korea, the United States, and a few other markets, while the international models are powered by an Exynos processor.
However, Samsung has been criticized for the performance difference between the two, with the Snapdragon very often outperforming the Exynos.
The Galaxy S21 will support 25W fast charging, according to today’s leak, and the unveiling could indeed take place in January next year.
Of course, we should still take the whole thing with a healthy dose of skepticism, yet given the leak comes from a super-reliable source, there’s a good chance it’s accurate.
