The device could be announced in August this year

Samsung is currently giving the finishing touches to several big releases, including not only new foldables, but also the highly anticipated Galaxy S21 FE.

Supposed to land as a more affordable version of the Galaxy S21, therefore called Fan Edition, the new FE will be equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery, according to a Korean report. And what’s more, it looks like the battery will be manufactured by LG, the company that has recently decided to abandon the device manufacturing business and stick with components and other industries.

The Galaxy S21 FE battery will therefore have the same capacity as the one on the Galaxy S20 FE, which means you should easily get at least one day per charge.

Possible launch in August

As for when the Galaxy S21 FE is projected to go live, people familiar with the matter suggested a new event is projected to take place in August.

Samsung typically holds an August event for the debut of the Galaxy Note, but this year, the phablet wouldn’t get a refresh. So the August Unpacked conference will be about other devices, including this Galaxy S21 FE, but also the Galaxy Watch 4 and new foldables.

And speaking of foldables, Samsung is likely to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip this year, though the company has also teased more affordable models based on the same form factors.

But right now, it’s not yet clear if the company is ready to unveil these cheaper foldables, though, at this point, it looks like the August event will be full of exciting announcements anyway.

As usual, expect more information to make the headlines as we get closer to the official event and more reliable sources get access to first-hand details about the upcoming device announcements.
