On August 13 Samsung unveiled the gorgeous Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ during a major press event hosted in New York. While we knew that the Galaxy Note5’s availability will be limited, Samsung didn’t reveal exactly which markets are going to see the phablet.

After the US, the Korean tech giant has launched the phabet in India. The Galaxy Note5 starting price has been set for Rs 53,900 (approximately $810) and customers should expect to be able to pick it up September 20. The 64GB variant of the device will be offered for Rs 59,900 (about $899).

The Galaxy Note5 will be launched in the country with three color options including Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium and will be made available for sale from all major online and brick-and-mortar stores in India (as seen at Fone Arena).

What’s more, Samsung enthusiasts who will pre-order the device will be awarded a wireless charger plus a one-time screen replacement for free. So you better hurry up and place your order, because the offer sounds pretty sweet.

Samsung Galaxy Note5 goes live in India

For those who have missed our earlier coverage on the Galaxy Note5 and have no idea what the phone is all about, we’re taking the opportunity to remind you that the phone features a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with 518ppi.

Samsung’s powerful octa-core silicon piece, the octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC (the one that is powering the Galaxy S6) is also fueling the Galaxy Note5, working side-by-side with 4GB of RAM (it’s the first to come out of the company to feature that configuration) plus 32GB of internal storage.

The phone also features a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP frontal snapper. On the negative side of things, some customers might be disappointed to find out that the Galaxy Note5 trades the removable battery and physical home button in order to be able to accommodate the sleek glass/metal design.

Furthermore, Samsung put a smaller 3,000 mAh battery inside the Galaxy Note5, while the Galaxy Note 4 relied on a 3,220 mAh one. So you shouldn’t expect battery life on the phablet to be stellar.

The Galaxy Note5 is pretty expensive, as we have seen above. Therefore, you should really think whether the phablet is worthy of your money or not before hurrying to place an order for it.
