Samsung is certainly busy working on its upcoming flagship, the successor to last year’s Galaxy Note 7, while information about the new phone continues to surface. A video coming from China (via SlashLeaks) reveals the alleged front panel of the Galaxy Note 8.

The video shows the front panel of the Galaxy Note 8 with almost unnoticeable side bezels, while the top bezels are considerably smaller, but big enough to accommodate a variety of sensors. The front panel is quite similar to what we’ve seen on the Galaxy S8, specifically the Infinity Display which didn’t leave room for the physical home button on the front.

In addition, the front panel is curved on the sides, hinting towards an OLED display on the next Galaxy Note smartphone. The phone is also expected to feature 18:9 aspect ratio and an even higher screen-to-body ratio compared to the Galaxy S8.

Dual-lens setup on the back of the Galaxy Note 8

Presumably, the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note 8 will be built below the display, a feature that should have arrived on the Galaxy S8, but Samsung faced mass production issues with the new technology. The Galaxy Note 8 will be considerably larger than the Galaxy S8 Plus, as the upcoming phone is said to have a display size of 6.3 inches.

It will most likely run the Snapdragon 835 platform and might have 6GB of RAM inside. Battery capacity is said to reach 3,600mAh with support for fast and wireless charging. Moreover, the phone will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and come with an improved S Pen.

It will most likely feature IP68 certification against water and dust damages, while the back panel is said to house a dual-camera setup with 12MP and 13MP sensors. Supposedly, the phone will be announced this August and it will also come with Samsung’s own virtual assistant Bixby and a number of other features. Reportedly, Samsung also began production of the Galaxy S9, set to arrive next year.
