The phablet dominated global usage numbers for a long time

Despite the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 has gone through two recalls before being discontinued, Samsung's phablet continues to be the most used smartphone launched in the second half of 2016.

It appears that many customers decided to go for Samsung's flagship smartphone back August when it was launched, which would have definitely had a positive effect on the company's revenue.

According to a new report coming from mobile research firm Apteligent, Samsung Galaxy Note 7's usage statistics are absolutely amazing for the months of September and October.

To give you an idea of how many consumers have ordered the Galaxy Note 7, it's worth mentioning that the phablet has higher global usage numbers than the LG V20, OnePlus 3T and HTC Bolt combined.

All three smartphones were released in October and November, so they're rather new devices. Moreover, there are no other smartphones launched in the second half of the year with higher global usage numbers than the Galaxy Note 7.

Not even the Pixel phones combined, or the Moto Z did not reach the level of global usage the Galaxy Note 7 had back in September/October.

It's also worth noting that it took until mid-November for another smartphone to overtake the Galaxy Note 7's global usage. It's the Sony Xperia XZ, which now appears to dominate the global usage numbers after the Galaxy Note 7's second recall.

No details were given about usage stats for the first half of the year, but we wouldn't be surprised if the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge dominated the global usage numbers.

Now the only thing that remains is for Samsung to reveal the reason behind the Galaxy Note 7's explosions.

Many reports claim that it was the South Korean's fault and that a flaw in design led to battery issues, but we won't know for sure until we have an official confirmation.
