14 DAY TRIAL // Next week, Samsung will showcase one of the most anticipated smartphones of this summer, the Galaxy Note 7. With just a few days left until the Unpacked 2016 event on August 2, details on the device and all of its specs continue to leak online.
The latest leak shows some renders of the phone, together with the new Gear VR that will most likely accompany it during the unveiling. Nowhereelse has revealed that the Note 7 will sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with curved side edges and possibly Gorilla Glass 5. It is said to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or Exynos 8890 in certain regions, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In addition, the handset will run Android Marshmallow 6.0 with a new version of TouchWiz, Grace UX, on top, and it will have a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7, optical stabilizer, and a front camera of 5MP.
The new Gear VR will have USB Type-C
The handset will feature USB Type-C, a fingerprint scanner, and the highly anticipated iris scanner. It will draw power from a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging. The phone's dimensions will reach 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9mm, with the device weighing 168 grams.
Rumors also say that Samsung could release the new Samsung Cloud Together storage service for smartphones and tablets, together with the Galaxy Note 7.
The new Gear VR has also leaked in images. That's how we know the headset will be 207mm wide, 122mm high and 98.5mm deep, and that it will weigh 300 grams and will be compatible USB Type-C so that it would work with the Note 7. The Gear VR will also have a wide field of vision of 110 degrees.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be available in black, silver, blue, and gold color variants while its price is rumored to start at €849 in Europe. The specs of the Note 7 have also leaked in a Reddit AMA, which reveals that the gold variant won't be available in the US, but Samsung could release a Rose Gold model later this year.
