Samsung is set to announce the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2, and it appears that information on the upcoming smartphone continues to leak online. The latest reveals the day when pre-orders will go live and some other details regarding the partial availability of the device.

Pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 will go live right after the unveiling event on August 2. According to GalaxyClub, pre-orders in the Netherlands and possibly other European countries, South Korea, and North America will start immediately after the unveiling ends.

Samsung has scheduled the Note 7 announcement on August 2 in New York at 11:00 a.m. EDT, Rio de Janeiro at 12:00 p.m., and London at 4:00 p.m. local hour. The handset will be available for pre-order on Samsung's website. The company has also decided to live-stream the New York unveiling event on its website.

It's unclear at this point if the manufacturer will also be offering a Gear VR headset for pre-orders, as it did with the Galaxy S7 edge. Pricing of the smartphone is said to reach €849 in Europe, but that remains to be seen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 could have an iris scanner and IP68 certification

The Galaxy Note 7 is said to come with a 5.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display, although some rumors have pointed to a 5.8- or even 6-inch screen. Rear camera capacity should reach 12MP, and the smartphone could draw power from a 3,600mAh or 4,000mAh battery.

It's also expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 821 or Exynos 8893 processor, depending on the region. The smartphone is believed to have an iris scanner and IP68 certification. Word is that it will bundle a redesigned S Pen and the new GraceUX.

In addition, it could feature 4GB or 6GB of RAM, but it's quite unclear at this point. Just today, Galaxy Note 7 accessories have been posted on a retailer's website, and pre-orders for cases are already live.
