Europeans might have to wait longer for the phablet

Even if so far Samsung has been unveiling a new Galaxy Note phablet every year at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, this year, it seems that the South Korean company will be introducing the new flagship much earlier.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the smartphone maker is gearing up to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 on August 12. And today we get even more information about the upcoming product.

It appears that after Samsung unleashes the phablet, the device will quickly land on retail shelves in North America, South Korea, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Asia. But the interesting part comes now: apparently, neither Samsung Europe nor Samsung Russia seem to be working on any Galaxy Note 5 firmware, reports Sam Mobile.

That doesn’t mean that European regions won’t be seeing the Galaxy Note 5 at all, but it’s possible that Samsung is looking to limit the availability of the product to a select number of locations.

Europeans will have to wait longer for Samsung's new phablet

On the other hand, the rumor mill has it that Samsung is expected to roll out the S6 edge+ alongside the Galaxy Note 5. So maybe Samsung wants European customers to focus their attention on the S6 edge+ instead. But this is just a mere guess from our part.

For the time being, you should be taking the report above with a big grain of salt, as things might drastically change in the following few weeks.

But if we’re to add up everything we’ve heard about the Galaxy Note 5, we’d have to assume that the phablet will be made available in some markets earlier and will probably come to Europe a little bit later, maybe following Samsung’s previous schedule. This implies the phablet getting unveiled in September and becoming available for purchase sometime around October.

Recent information indicates that the Galaxy Note 5 will not have a microSD card slot and will look like a big-sized Galaxy S6 (glass back) in terms of design. On top of that, the phablet will feature a very thin bezel, just like the company’s recent Galaxy A8 phone.

You should also keep in mind that the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be the first Samsung smartphone to come equipped with 4GB of RAM.
