Samsung recently launched the refreshed Galaxy A lineup a few weeks ago, but the company won't stop there. It looks like the South Korean company plans to launch 2016 versions of its Galaxy J smartphones.

We already reported on the Galaxy J3 (2016) that will make its debut in the United States in the coming weeks. Today, a new Galaxy J series smartphone popped up online at GFXBench database.

Unlike the Galaxy J3 (2016), which is an entry-level Android smartphone, the Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with above-average specs that include an octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) is listed at GFXBench as Samsung SM-J710x and is confirmed to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

No Android 6.0 Marshmallow for this one

That's probably one of the few downsides of the upcoming smartphone, though we suspect Samsung will provide Galaxy J7 (2016) owners with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade in the months following its launch.

Hardware-wise, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) will come equipped with a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Aside from the high amount of RAM, the unannounced smartphone will also pack 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

At the back, the smartphone features a 12-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Other highlights of the upcoming smartphone include an accelerometer, Bluetooth, compass, GPS with AGPS support, Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), and light sensor.

There's no telling when exactly Samsung will launch the Galaxy J7 (2016), but since the smartphone has already leaked in benchmarks, it shouldn't take long for the device to go official.
