14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung's J series consists of affordable and mid-range Android smartphones. The latest additions to the lineup are Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7, which were officially released in China last month.
They are still available for purchase only in China, but that's about to change since Samsung India has already sent invitations for a launch event where both smartphones will be officially introduced, fonearena reports.
Although it's unclear whether or not the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will go on sale on July 16, we know for sure they will come to India very soon.
Both Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. While we don't have any info on pricing options, the Galaxy J5 is likely to be the cheaper of the two.
The smartphone comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, and packs a 13-megapixel camera in the back, which is paired with a 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
On the inside, Galaxy J5 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.
The mid-ranger also comes with dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with AGPS and a 2,600 mAh battery.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 features a slightly larger 5.5-inch IPS display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB RAM.
The Galaxy J7 packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It comes with a similar camera configuration: 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.
It provides dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, but it's powered by a larger 3,000 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by Samsung.
The Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will be available for purchase in India in three different color options: Black, Gold and White.
