New Chromebook expected to launch in January

While all eyes are currently on Apple Silicon, Samsung is getting ready to bring back the Chromebook frenzy with a new product launch due in January.

And today, leakster Evan Blass provides the WWW with an early look at the new device coming from the South Koreans.

Called Samsung Galaxy Chromebook2, the new device is visually similar to the original Galaxy Chromebook, and little has changed, at least judging from this leaked image.

What we do know, however, is that the device comes with rearranged ports, which could signal bigger upgrades happening inside.

A new Intel chip powering the Chromebook

indeed, Blass says there’ll be a new cooler Intel chip with a built-in fan that would be in charge of putting the Chromebook at work, and this is without a doubt good news, especially because one of the biggest complaints on the existing model was how hot it got during certain operations.

Samsung got the message, it seems, so it’s now working on resolving the whole thing with a welcome chip upgrade on the new-generation Galaxy Chromebook.

As for when it’s supposed to go live, it looks like January is very likely to witness the debut of the Galaxy Chromebook2, though for now, it’s still not clear if Samsung wants to take the wraps coff the device at its CES event or during the Galaxy S21 Unpacked party on January 14.

According to people familiar with the matter, the Galaxy S21 will go live earlier than usual this time, with the official unveiling to take place on January 14. The shipping would then kick off later the same month, so theoretically, we should be able to get our hands on the new smartphone approximately one month earlier than usual.

Samsung has so far remained tight-lipped on both the new Chromebook and the Galaxy S21.
