Samsung had already launched new Galaxy A (2016) series smartphones a few months ago, but it looks like the South Korean company has a few more devices in the pipeline.

At least one improved version of Galaxy A9 (2016) will be making its way to the market in the next couple of weeks. We reported a few times in the past about the unannounced Galaxy A9 Pro, but now we also have some pictures to show to you as well as a few more details that got confirmed.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) has just been spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, so here is some legit information about the smartphone's specs and design.

First for all, this is a huge phablet with a massive 6-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports only full HD (1080p) resolution. Still, considering this isn't a flagship smartphone, it makes sense for Samsung to add such a display.

According to the listing at TENAA, the Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) comes equipped with a powerful 64-bit 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, coupled with an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM.

China is likely to get it first

The phablet packs 32GB of storage inside, but users can expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot. There's also a 16-megapixel camera on the back, probably the same as the one included in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 flagships.

On the front, the massive device packs a no less impressive 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Speaking of size, the Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) measures 161.7 × 80.9 × 7.9 mm and weighs 210g (battery included).

Unfortunately, we don't have details on the battery, but let's hope it's bigger than 3,500 mAh. We also know that Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box.

Since the phablet has just been certified at TENAA, we expect the Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) to make its debut in China in the next couple of weeks, or even earlier.
