Samsung's new Galaxy A series has recently been released and contains three smartphones, for starters: Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016).

However, the South Korean company plans to expand the Galaxy A series with additional handsets that will be launched next year.

The Galaxy A9 is one of the smartphones that might be announced early next year. The device leaked online not long ago, along with other Galaxy A phones that have already been officially introduced on the market.

Now, the first official images of the Galaxy A9 have just popped up online in China. The advertising pictures also reveal some of the smartphone's specs.

In fact, many of these specs have been appearing in benchmarks for a few weeks now, so this is just further confirmation of what's to come.

The largest in the Galaxy A series

First of all, the Galaxy A9 will be the largest in the A series with a huge 6-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the phablet will come equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor and 3GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy A9 features a metal frame and 2.5D glass panels, as well as a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), autofocus, LED flash, and video recording.

There's also a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front, which can shoot panoramic pictures. While there's no word on whether or not Samsung Galaxy A9 will feature dual-SIM support, we do know for sure it will come with LTE Cat.7 support and a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

Last but not least, the phablet will pack a fingerprint scanner with support for Samsung Pay, and it will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating.
