Rumors and even images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) have been surfacing for some time now, and it seems that the device has just passed through AnTuTu benchmarking test. The specs seem to contradict some of the previous rumors on the smartphone, but until it's officially announced, nothing is actually set in stone.

The AnTuTu listing shows that the smartphone could come with the model number SM-A810F and runs a Samsung Exynos 7420 SoC, with four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz, and an octa-core Mali-T760 graphics processing unit.

In addition, the smartphone seems to come with a Full HD display, possibly in a size larger than 5.7 inches.

The AnTuTu listing, spotted by Steve Hemmerstoffer, also shows that the smartphone's rear camera is an 8MP unit, which seems to contradict previous rumors that pointed to a 16MP camera on the back.

Frontal camera's capacity is 5MP and the device could be equipped with 64GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. Internal storage capacity was previously believed to reach 32GB.

Samsung could release a different variant of the phone in certain regions, one that would come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC and Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. Benchmark listings aren't always reliable, as specs for the smartphone could change until the final version is revealed.

The smartphone could boast a design that's similar to the Galaxy S7 and it might even have a 2.5D display. Official images of the device leaked a few days ago, showing its design from all angles.

The rumored price of the handset could reach $300, which would make it very affordable to many consumers on the market. The Galaxy A8 (2016) could run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and it will be the successor to last year's Galaxy A8.
