We've been reporting about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones for quite some time now. Just about all current handsets in this family will be getting its sequel in the next couple of months.

While we don't know which one will be announced first, we do know most of their specs and what they will look like.

Today, a new set of pictures show the alleged successors of the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. The folks over at SamMobile report these second-generation Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 have recently popped up in China, which suggests that Samsung might unveil them very soon.

The images leaked directly from China name these smartphones "2016 Edition" so they might launch next year.

Aside from these live pictures, the Chinese source did not reveal anything else about the 2016 Edition Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones.

Both come with Lollipop onboard

Luckily, we have quite a lot of info that leaked a while ago. For example, we know that the Galaxy A5 successor should sport a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that features full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the smartphone will include Samsung' Exynos 7 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, along with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory with microSD expansion support.

On the other hand, the Galaxy A7 2016 Edition should boast a larger 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with full HD (1080p) resolution.

The phone will employ the services of a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Both smartphones will pack 13-megapixel rear-facing cameras and 5-megapixel cameras at the front for selfies and video calls.

Also, Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2016 Editions will come preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is a bit disappointing.
