It's no surprise that Samsung has a few more smartphones in the pipeline before the Galaxy S8 goes official in late February. A refresh of the Galaxy A series is on the way and we've already gathered enough information to know what to expect from these devices.

Although we thought the new Galaxy A (2017) smartphones would be announced by the end of the year, they might not be revealed until early 2017.

Still, the information hasn't been confirmed yet, so there's a chance at least some of these phones will make it to market in 2016.

If you haven't followed our news feed and don't know anything about the Galaxy A (2017), you'll be pleased to know that all three phones have been recently captured in a live photo.

The Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2017) are expected to be unveiled on January 2, 2017, at least according to the date showing up on their displays.

New info about batteries

We've also learned a few more details about their hardware specs. Even though these three smartphones made the rounds at every important benchmark, there was no information about the batteries inside.

Well, thanks to a new report, we now know that Samsung will include a 3,000 mAh battery inside the Galaxy A3 (2017), a 3,300 mAh battery in the Galaxy A5 (2017), while a slightly larger 3,500 mAh battery powers the Galaxy A7 (2017).

They will come with 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch and 5.7-inch Always-on displays and USB Type-C ports. Some of them, like the Galaxy A7 (2017) will even feature waterproof design (IP68 certification).

The overall design of the Galaxy A series has been slightly modified as well. Samsung has decided to use glass for all three smartphones and the edges and corners are now slightly rounder. Hopefully, they will be announced sooner rather than later.
