We already know lots of details about Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, like the fact they will come with 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch displays.

The information has been confirmed today by an alleged Samsung employee, who told Korean Internet provider Naver (via PhoneArena) that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge would indeed feature 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch, respectively, displays.

The smartphones will be available in four color options like Black, White, Silver and Gold. Samsung's employee also confirmed the Galaxy S7 and all its variations would be officially unveiled at MWC 2016, on February 21, but he did not say anything about the actual availability.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S7 and all of its models will pack a black chassis for a premium look. They will also include a new 12-megapixel photo snapper with f/1.7 aperture, which will be great for taking night pictures.

Better camera with lower number of MP, larger battery

Keep in mind that the latest high-end Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 employ the services of a 16-megapixel module camera, so the addition of a downgraded (on paper) 12-megapixel camera might ring some bells.

Still, Samsung's employee claims the 12-megapixel camera included in the Galaxy S7 should be superior when it comes to picture quality since it will use a dual pixel autofocus similar to Canon's DSLR cameras.

The new camera will also reduce noise and make colors more vivid, but it will be much smaller, thus removing the usual hump on the back of the Galaxy S7.

Also, both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be dust and waterproof. More importantly, they will feature hybrid dual-SIM, which means users will be able to add two SIM cards or use one slot for storage expansion.

Last but not least, without revealing any specific details, Samsung's employee confirmed that the Galaxy S7 would include a larger battery than the Galaxy S6.
