14 DAY TRIAL // The main selling point of Samsung’s newest flagships is certainly the design, as it marks a major change in the Galaxy S series. The Infinity Display, dual-edge AMOLED screen, small bezels and curved design certainly make the two phones stand out on the market.
To highlight the new design, Samsung decided to tell the story of how the Galaxy S8 came to life and how the phone’s slim figure proves to be an advantage to users.
The Infinity Display covers the entire front panel on both smartphones, while retaining a relatively compact size, with the removal of the physical home button. The 18:5:9 aspect ratio provides a new experience for users, as more and more smartphone makers are looking to expand aspect ratio on upcoming devices.
Curved and symmetric front and back panels do allow for a firm grip of the phone, while rounded edges make the phone fit comfortably in the hands of users. Samsung also highlights the phone’s glass material with a glossy finish that reflects light and provides an overall premium look for the new device. The rear camera no longer has a bump, providing a fluid back panel.
Multiple color options and unified user experience
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come in a plenitude of color variants, including a glossy Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Maple Gold, Orchid Gray and Coral Blue, thus meeting the preferences of many users.
Together with the new phones, Samsung also introduced a number of interesting and stylish accessories, including clear cases, translucent and silicone covers in a variety of colors. Aside from external visual details, the Galaxy S8 also comes with a renewed interface that makes it easy to access various apps and customize icons.
Bixby also provides a unified experience, coming to the aid of users and finding all sorts of information that they might need. In addition, Samsung has announced that it will showcase its smartphone design philosophy during Milan Design Week.
